I love my cover stitch machine! I spend so much time making a garment I want it to look professional, a zigzag will finish a hem just fine but the cover stitch makes it shine!
For those who don’t have a cover machine und don’t like zigzag stitches: most modern sewing machines have an overlock stitch used with the regular zigzag foot. Raise the stitch length, loosen the upper tension to get the perfect stretchyness for your project. Test the stitch width on a little leftover patch to get the right position to cover the cut line.
The stitch looks very decorative on the right side and can be sewn with a decorative machine stitching thread.
