What a perfect touch for when we finally get together for Independence Day. So festive, so patriotic, and so much fun to make. I love it!
Incomplete instructions. You could at least give an idea of how long to cut the strips from the jelly roll
Be nice!
if you look at the third picture with the strips sewn together the one piece measures 7 inches, so it appears like they are 7 inches by 2 1/2 inches. that is what it appears.
I calculate 8″ x 2 1/2″–but it’s in the same ballpark.
usually jelly rolls fabrics are 2.5″ x 42″. Just eye-balling the picture, the strips are about 3.5 times as long as they are wide. so 3.5 x 2.5″ = roughly 8.75″ long strips. I would cut 2.5″ x 8.5″ strips & use a .25″ quilting seam to connect. 6 strips per block x 6 blocks. overall approx 12.5″ x 48.5″. they used pinking shears to cut & didn’t finish the edges
Wish I could stop & make this runner right now. Is there a pattern?
Certainly is fun but I would stagger the blocks so you don’t have to match seams and give it more visual interest.
I like this for other Holidays too.
Question: Do you make vertical rows then sew horizontally?
Really? No cutting measurements? You can do better than this!
Okay, lets be nice… In the supply list it says “Pre-cut” jelly rolls.
Love them
Looks like the blocks are sew In groups of six, not five, based on the finished runner picture.
Oh this gives me ideas for my vacation home rental. I have a dresser and this gave me an idea to make one for each season and holidays to change out.
The instructions : cut the length of the fabrics into groups according size of the table you like to cover. Anyway the width is 2.5 inches, add as much strips of fabrics you desire. Love the idea
